Laws We Can Believe In

Over the Christmas holiday, the Senate passed their version of a health care reform bill, a bill that the American people consistently say they do not want.  In lieu of that law, I offer some suggestions to the government.  Here’s some laws I would support wholeheartedly.

  • It should be illegal to require a phone conversation to cancel something that you signed up for online.
  • There should be a $500 fine for throwing cigarette butts out of your car window.
  • It should be mandated that no more signs go up on interstate highways, with the exception of “slower traffic keep right” signs.  And we need twice as many of those.
  • Personal, handwritten checks should be outlawed by 2015.
  • Any business requiring you to fax something should be fined.
  • Ban those high-volume TV ads and require consistent volume among broadcasts.

I think I heard something about the high-volume TV ads going away.

But I say keep the checks so I can keep my job.

I agree with them all. I would add that those that don’t follow the “slow traffic keep right” signs should be pulled over and fined.
