Week two of The Jesus Series. Here’s some highlights.
- We talked about John the Baptist, who was the forerunner to Jesus. Jesus himself that John was the greatest person ever…that’s some high marks.
- I think humility was what made John great…He didn’t steal the show – he just pointed people to Jesus.
- There should only be one famous person in any church…Jesus.
- Chris Joyner was in town and led us in worship. Cool to hang out with him and learn. We sang Your Grace is Enough, The Stand, and You Never Let Go.
- I want to encourage you to follow along with the series at TheJesusSeries.com. Our staff is posting additional content from the series there.
- A lot of you have asked who is the person talking in the intro video. That’s Matt Chandler, a pastor in Texas. If you were smart, you would subscribe to The Village Church podcast and listen to it every week.
- Tickets are on sale for Christmas Eve Eve. We’re raising money for Orphan Aid Liberia and it will be a great family-friendly show. Buy a ticket for a friend, co-worker or neighbor and invite them to the show.
- Next week, we’re celebrating the birth of Christ, singing some Christmas songs, and talking about Luke 2. It will be a GREAT week to invite someone to church. Lots of people who don’t normally attend church will come with you next week if you invite them.
- We got some great news about our Canton campus last week, and a group of us spent Saturday morning driving around town. I really believe God is going to do something really amazing. If you’re interested, our first launch team meeting is January 24. And I’m going to introduce you to the campus pastor at this meeting. Get more information on Canton right here.

Awesome concept for a series…
