Weekend Recap

We kicked off the longest series we’ve ever done (24 weeks) this weekend. It’s simply called Jesus. This first message actually walked through the entire Old Testament and set the stage for Jesus’ entrance. Here’s some other highlights.

  • The band played songs that were at least 100 years old. Loved hearing old hymns like It is Well, The Solid Rock and Jesus Paid it All in a fresh style. Call me old school, but I like hymns, because they can teach us theology.
  • The website for this series is theJesusSeries.com.  Our staff is posting additional content throughout the week.  Videos, links, articles and posts.
  • Genesis 3:15 is actually the first mention of Jesus in the Bible.  You may not have realized it, but Jesus is all throughout the Old Testament.
  • Next week, we start with the book of Luke, so you might want to read Luke 1-2 to get a jump on where we are going.
  • Tickets are now on sale for Christmas Eve Eve.  We’re doing three family-friendly shows at The House of Rock.  The tickets are cheap, and all the money is benefiting Orphan Aid Liberia.  In case you’re wondering, the event is on December 23.
  • I’ve been out of the office for basically two weeks, so I’m looking forward to getting a lot accomplished this week.
