worshiping the worship leader.
or the worship experience.
acting like rock stars instead of pastors and worship leaders
going to church based on who is going to be there
going to church based on who is speaking
remembering how cool the speakers were while forgetting anything they actually said
acting like worship is a concert
acting like the sermon is mean to make people comfortable
seeking the experience

I totally agree with you. I don’t think you need to talk louder so you can be heard above the band…this is not a concert..this is worship.
I hate people talking during the service…this is not a social hour…this is a learning experience. If you can’t hear, you can’t learn what the Bible instructs.
I attend church because 1) the Bible tells us not to forsake the assembly of believers, and 2) I know there is a lot of things I can still learn, need to learn, and want to learn about being more Christ like.
I am so glad to be a part of a church that teaches what the Bible says and explains it so well. Michael I think you do a great job, and I am grateful God led me to Oak Leaf.
preach it, michael. and keep preaching it.
wow, a lot of wisdom in this. clarity is a great thing
I wonder if how we produce worship influences how people experience worship. Why don’t we put less into production and more into interacting with the Scripture? (I have ideas on how this can happen.)
Sounds good…but it might be to late.
Amen.
Great words. Thanks for sharing.
