I met Will Goodwin a few months after moving to Cartersville.  I was looking for people since I was planting a church, and I found out there was a singles Bible study happening.  Will led worship that night and we connected a few weeks later at Moe’s.  We talked about music, church planting, bands, and life.

Will led every now and then in the early days, and about a year ago, he joined our staff on a full time basis.  He made videos, led worship, built stages, put stuff togheter, fixed things, helped us learn what we were doing and about a hundred other things.

February 5 will be Will’s last day with us.  I know lots of people will be looking for the scandal, but there isn’t one.  It’s just one of those things.  God’s timing.  Part of the master plan that we don’t get to fully see.  The mysterious part of God’s will.   Will is leaving on good terms, and I will offer nothing but recommendations to anyone and everyone.

It’s never easy to navigate this kind of stuff, but I think we will look back on this one day and say that it turned out to be best for the church and best for the Goodwins.  Will and Jaime are a part of the Oak Leaf family, so stop by Will’s blog and let him know that you’ll miss them.

Pray for Will, their family, and our church.  Be unified around our mission, which is so much bigger than any person (even me!).   More than ever, I believe God has great things in store for Oak Leaf Church.
