Part 2 of God at the Movies today. We used “I am Legend” to set up a chat about being light in the dark world. Here’s some thoughts from today.
- There were demons in the sound system this morning, which set things about an hour behind schedule. This led ito the first service, which just didn’t feel right.
- The second and third service picked up, and when it was all said and done, there were 913 people at church today.
- 913 people is an all, non-Easter time record.
- For some perspective, there were 303 people in the third service, which has 265 seats. There were people sitting on steps and standing in aisles.
- Josh Roberts, who si starting a church church in Rome, Georgia, was in our service today. Check out his thoughts right here.
- We are working in the House of Rock on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights from 6-9pm. Come and help us if you can. We’ll also be in there on Saturday from 9-3. We especially need people to help with painting, cleaning, building, electrical and plumbing.
- I talked about my buddy Vince, who is leaving his church in Virginia Beach to start a church on the strip in Las Vegas. That’s what I’m talking about when I say that the light doesn’t need to curse the darkness, but invade it.
- We continue God at the Movies next week by talking about Iron Man. Tony Stark will lead us in a discussion of one of my favorite characters from the New Testament. We cap off the series with WallE.
- Come join us Monday, Tuesday or Thursday night and I’ll see you there!
