Moving to the Movies

Yesterday, I announced that we are accelerating our plan to have church back at the movie theaters, the place where Oak Leaf Church began.  We’re doing this for multiple reasons:

  • We were putting a campus there anyway, and we have most of the equipment and stuff.
  • With the House of Rock in the picture, it’s more cost effective than staying at Woodland.
  • It’s more centrally located and the invites are generally easier.
  • Our people like having coffee in the auditorium.  They are just shallow like that. :)
  • It just feels more like home for us.

So, beginning on July 20, we’ll officially be church at the movies once more. We’ll have three services: 8:45, 10:00 and 11:15. To celebrate our move, on Saturday morning, July 19, we’re going to give a free movie to the community.  We’re buying out a theater for a special showing of Batman and inviting 300 people to come see the free movie.  Everybody else can get a reduced price on their ticket.  Then, the very next day, services will begin and we kick off the “Supernatural” series.

Spread the word and invite your friends.  Church at the Movies Strikes Back!
